According to international data, around 22% of the patients need repatriation when they fall ill abroad. SOS Hungary is the local partner of almost all air-ambulance companies and assistance companies: we can safely and professionally prepare the patient for medical evacuation.
 
1. SOS doctors provide up-to-date and expert information on the patient’s current status. Upon this detailed information the doctor of the insurance company can make an appropriate decision more easily on the timing and modality of repatriation

2. Upon your request, SOS Alarmcentre arranges the stretcher on any regular flight, and also an extra seat for the family member or the escorting doctor.

3.  Our taxi service welcomes the escorting medical staff at the airport and takes them to the hospital, where the patient is waiting for them. Our operator reserves a hotel room for the escorting staff and the family.

4. On the day of repatriation our ambulance staff picks up the escorting staff and the patient and takes them to the airport. Our  staff helps the patient  with the check-in and boarding. The patient on stretcher will be taken directly to the board.
 

5. If it is necessary, our doctor or nurse will escort the patient back to his/her homeland.  When the air evacuation is contraindicated, the SOS ambulances, which are prepared for long distance transport, can take the patient home.
